How to clean your outdoor blinds
Slidetrack outdoor blinds are renowned for their unrivalled quality and ease of operation. The unique engineering and intricate functions make our blinds a standard for quality and sophistication.
But like all quality products, they require occasional maintenance to continue providing you and your loved ones with year-round protection from Australia’s unpredictable climatic shifts.
Here’s how to keep your Slidetrack outdoor blinds working at top capacity in rain or shine.
Cleaning your outdoor blinds
First, it is important to know that you should clean your blinds whenever a visible dust build-up occurs. Cleaning any noticeable dust build-ups will prevent deterioration in both the material and aesthetic of the blinds themselves.
To do this, use a soft-bristle brush that has been dipped in a bucket of clean water. Alternatively, you can use a brush connected to a hose as the pressure will help easily lift the dust from the material.
For our PVC range, use a soft cloth or chamois, gently wiping down the blinds to remove any unwanted debris.
Lubricate your slide track grooves
The unique slide track grooves are imperative to making our product so easy to operate. To maintain full capacity, ensure that you lubricate these grooves using silicone from a spray can at least four times a year.
Only use silicone, and lubricate the grooves especially after a hard rain.
If your blinds have mould
Mould and stubborn stains can be cleaned utilising hypochlorite bleach. Use one part bleach and four parts water to remove these impurities. Apply the bleach solution to the product using a soft brush. Thoroughly rinse the blinds after 10 minutes using cold water, but do not use a high pressure hose.
